Obituary

Clyde Thurman Woods, of Dixon, was born on October 21, 1944, at Burneyville, Oklahoma a son of Audley S. and Betty June (Miller) Woods and departed this life at 3:05 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Woods had been in failing health for the past several months and had attained the age of 75 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Mr. Woods was united in marriage on December 1, 1966, at Marietta, Oklahoma to Dortha Ann Kerr and to this union, three daughters were born. He was preceded in death by his birth father; his mother, Betty June Baccus on December 30, 2001; his dad whom raised him, Loyd Baccus on July 12, 1991; his grandparents, Edgar Miller and Marguerite Miller; his brother, Sam Hernaiz on June 13, 1990 and his son-in-law, Brian Gaskill on August 2, 2003.

Mr. Woods entered into active federal service in the Army of the United States in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1963 and served his country until 1985 when he was honorably discharged at Fort Leonard Wood having attained the rank of First Sergeant (E8).

Following his military career, Mr. Woods had worked in food service on Fort Leonard Wood. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. Most of all he loved the time he could spend with his grandchildren.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Woods include: his wife of nearly 54 years, Dortha Woods, Dixon; his three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa Woods, Dixon; Shelia and Tim Moore, state of Maryland and April and Brian Seiffert, Ellisville; his grandchildren, Connor Moore, Sarah Moore, Trista Seiffert, Macee Seiffert, Nichole Holtmeyer and Ashley Holtmeyer; six great-grandchildren; his sister, Sue Ann Jackson, Thackerville, Oklahoma; his extended family, Abby and Nate Parker; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sammy and Wanda Brewer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and June Kerr and Jerry Kerr all of Marietta, Oklahoma and Carlton and Billie Kerr, Dexter and many other relatives and friends.
