Obituary

Elsie Aleene Robertson, formerly of Dixon, was born in Maries County, on January 3, 1929, a daughter of William and Elsie (Watson) Case and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 in the St. Peters Manor Care Center. Aleene had attained the age of 91 years, 10 months and 14 days.

Aleene was united in marriage on June 1, 1947, in Maries County, to Mr. Edward E. Robertson and to this union, four children were born.  She was preceded in death by her husband on November 16, 1999; her father, Willie on March 15, 1964; her mother, Elsie on September 22, 1988; a grandson, Jeremiah Rogers on September 16, 1994; son-in-law, Chet Wisniewski on March 4, 2006; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary (Pete) Alexander, Neva (Tim) Ramsey and Carol (Russ) Gamblin.

Aleene was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon and the St. Theresa Alter Society. She had worked in the cutting room at Brown Shoe Company before she and Ed purchased the Robertson Store on Highway 28 north of Dixon. After they sold the store, Aleene worked for over 10 years for the Dixon Middle School as the head cook. Ed and Aleene moved to Columbia for 4 years so Ed could receive kidney dialysis. After his passing, she moved back to Dixon until October 2012, when she moved to O'Fallon to live with her son and daughter-in-law. Aleene enjoyed quilting, crocheting, tending to her flowers and cooking for her family as well as helping her friends and neighbors at the Dixon Senior Center and her church.

Aleene is survived by her children: Brenda Wisniewski (and friend, Jack), sons, Bill Robertson, Brad (Ann) Robertson, and Bruce (Tracy) Robertson; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Wisniewski, Leslie (Travis) Hauck, Jeremy Robertson, John (Kristin) Robertson, Steven (Ashley) Robertson, Jamie (Amanda) Robertson and Grant Robertson; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Donna (Gary) Cain; many nephews, nieces and dear friends.

Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon service time all on Friday, November 20, 2020 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Rev. Joseph Hoi, St. Theresa Catholic Church officiating.

Interment will be in the St. Theresa Catholic (Eagan) Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Aleene are Jeremy Robertson, John Robertson, Steven Robertson, Jamie Robertson, Grant Robertson and Sutton Hauck. Honorary pallbearers are Jeffrey Wisniewski and Leslie Hauck.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the St. Theresa Catholic (Eagan) Cemetery with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
