Obituary

Austin Delane Robertson, of St. Louis was born on January 31, 1940, in Phelps County a son of Granville Lee and Ella Irene (Adams) Robertson and departed this life on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in the Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis. Mr. Robertson had attained the age of 80 years, 11 months and 20 days.

Mr. Robertson was united in marriage on August 8, 1959, in Illinois to Mary Sue Talley and to this union, five children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary on May 18, 2015; an infant daughter, Kathy Ann Robertson on August 24, 1962; his father, Granville on April 29, 1973; his mother, Ella on January 7, 1979 and four brothers, Gene Robertson in 1960; Dean Robertson in 1990; Fred James Robertson and Clifford Robertson, Sr. both in 2020.

Mr. Robertson had worked as a carpenter for all his working life, retiring in 2005 and was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union in St. Louis. He loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren, going to bluegrass festivals and to the casinos.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Robertson include: his children, Carol Sue Rapelje and her husband, Michael, St. Louis; David Delane Robertson, Festus; Lisa Marie Martin and her husband, Tony, Festus and Austin Delane Robertson, Jr. and companion, Jessica Pender, Herculaneum;  five brothers, Raymond Robertson, Freeburg, George (Dorothy) Robertson, Vienna; Paul (Shirley) Robertson, Bourbon; Bobby Robertson, Dixon and Benny (Jan) Robertson, Holts Summit; two sisters, Helen Bax, Jefferson City and Betty Hartley, Kansas City, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Virginia Robertson, Vienna; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 12:00 noon all on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Rev. Fred Pringle officiating.

Interment will be in the Kenner Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mr. Robertson are his grandsons, T. J.  Martin, Michael Rapelje, Eric Martin, Austin Robertson, Tyler Stout and Brandon Robertson. Honorary pallbearers are C.J. Hartley and Dennis Hartley.

Memorial contributions are suggested by Mr. Robertson's family to the Kenner Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home, Dixon.
