Obituary

Ava Marie Stoumbaugh, age 98, of Crocker, was born on June 6, 1926, in Miller County, a daughter of Thomas Harrison and Nellie Jane (Whittle) Smith and passed from this life on Thursday, April 3, 2025 in the Richland Care Center.

Mrs. Stoumbaugh was united in marriage on January 11, 1948, at Crocker, to Harold Walter Stoumbaugh and to this union, two children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 1, 1976; her son, James "Jim" Stoumbaugh on February 26, 2016; her father on November 10, 1973; her mother on December 12, 1987; an infant sister, Mary Smith in 1935 and her brother, Harold Smith on January 11, 2021.

Mrs. Stoumbaugh was baptized later in life and was a member of the Crocker Presbyterian Church. She had been employed in the dry-cleaning business and had worked in several different ones around the communities as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, fishing, sports and working in her yard.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Stoumbaugh include: her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Alan Marso, Crocker; her grandchildren, Ryan Stoumbaugh, Brian (Tina) Foster, Amanda (Nick) Ward and Kent (Maura) Stoumbaugh; her great-grandchildren, Elaina Foster, Ava Ward, Riley Foster, Lillian Ward and Alli Foster and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held for Mrs. Stoumbaugh from 10 a.m. until the time of her service at 12 noon on Monday, April 7, 2025 in the Crocker Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bill Agnew officiating.

Interment will be in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mrs. Stoumbaugh are Ryan Stoumbaugh, Brian Foster, Kent Stoumbaugh, Nick Ward, Riley Foster and John Storie. Honorary pallbearers are Benny Brown and Charlie Worstell.

Memorials are suggested to the Crocker Presbyterian Church in Memory of Mrs. Ava Marie Stoumbaugh with envelopes available at the church the day of her service or c/o Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box 700, Crocker, Missouri 65452.
