Betty Lucille Duncan, of Brumley, was born on March 5, 1934, in Miller County, a daughter of Ernest and Iola (Gumm) Harrison, and departed this life on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at her residence near Brumley. Mrs. Duncan had attained the age of 80 years, 3 months, and 26 days.
Mrs. Duncan was united in marriage on October 21, 1949, in Pulaski County, to Donald Lee Duncan, and to this union five children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Christopher Henson.
Mrs. Duncan a housewife and homemaker and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. She enjoyed gardening and flowers.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Duncan include: her husband, Donald Duncan, Brumley; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Timothy Duncan, Eldon; Mitchell and Alice Duncan, Richland; and Terry Duncan, Brumley; two daughters and one-son-law, Karen and Kenny Wall, Crocker and Heather Lee, Richland; one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Barbara Harrison, Iberia; five grandchildren, Parker Lee, Tarrah Vaughan, Dyllon Duncan, Ethan Duncan and Melinda Henson; eight great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Duncan at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2014, in the New Hope Gospel Church, Crocker with Bro. Robert McGuire Pastor of the Goodwill Church, Crocker, officiating.
Interment was in the Mt. Union Cemetery near Brumley under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Pallbearers for Mrs. Duncan were David Harrison, Mike Harrison, Kenny Wall, Ethan Duncan, Doug Duncan and Dyllon Duncan. Honorary pallbearers were Donald "Bubba" Hakee, Rocky Hendrickson and Jason Harrison.
