Obituary

Beverly Jean Stafford, of Crocker, was born on September 28, 1935, at Eugene, Oregon, a daughter of Charles Avery and Mildred Warner (Flock) Sherman and departed this life at 2:51 p.m., Tuesday afternoon, May 10, 2016, at her residence near Crocker. Mrs. Stafford had been in failing health and had attained the age of 80 years, 7 months and 12 days.

Mrs. Stafford was united in marriage on July 19, 1954, at Belton, Texas to John Clinton Stafford, and to this union, two sons were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 5, 2008; her father Charles in 1948; her mother Mildred in 1980; two brothers, Lamonte Sherman and Louis Sherman and her twin sister, Lenore Vanderpool.

Mrs. Stafford was a member of the Concord Christian Church, Crocker; the Order of the Eastern Star Plato Chapter, Evening Shade; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cootie, Post No. 24, Crocker and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post No. 4956, Crocker. She was a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker always diligent in providing for the needs of her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Stafford include: two sons and one daughter-in-law, Stevan Stafford and Fred and Elizabeth Stafford all of Crocker; three grandchildren, Zac, John and Star; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Stafford at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2016, in the Long Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Pastor Roy Gilkey, First Christian Church, Waynesville, officiating.

Interment was in the Concord Cemetery near Crocker under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mrs. Stafford were Mike Stafford, Zac Stafford, John Stafford, Dan Lathrop, Taylor Anderson and Dawson Anderson. Honorary pallbearers were Cody Lathrop and Johnny Rodden.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Concord Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
