Blanche Lillian Barnett

Blanche Lillian Barnett, of Dixon, MO was born on May 19, 1920 in Miller County, a daughter of John M. and Emma V. (McMillian) Carroll, and departed this life at 11:18 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2012, in the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, MO. Ms. Barnett had attained the age of 92 years, 3 months and 10 days.

Ms. Barnett was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Lisa Renee Barnett; four brothers, Ernest Carroll, Harold Carroll, Sidney Carroll and David Carroll; two sisters, Clara Moss and Lorene Anderson and one son-in-law, Robert L. Sooter.

Ms. Barnett was owner and operator of Barnett's Department Store, Dixon, for over 30 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Dixon. She was a talented quilter and embroiderer, amazing cook, avid reader, and enjoyed gardening. She was generous to her community, active in her church for many years and had endless love for her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Ms. Barnett include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Judith Barnett, Ft. Worth, Texas; Ricky and Lynn Barnett, St. Charles, MO and Mike and Melissa Barnett, Dixon; one daughter, Sharon K. Barnett-Sooter, Rolla; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Margie Carroll, Cuba, MO and Bob and Beth Carroll, Dixon; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy Curry, Crocker, MO; Betty Cross, Dixon and Jane and Robert Rigsby, Springfield, MO; ten grandchildren, Traci, Pamela, Dana, Debra, Robyn, Marnee, Evan, Blake, Elatia and Emmalee; nine great-grandchildren, Bryan and Jana, Chelsea, Sara, Amanda and Ryker, Rachael, Jack, Adam, Thomas and Sam; three great-great-grandchildren, Thomas, Farrah and Rosaleigh; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Ms. Barnett at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2012, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Bro. Rocky Carroll, First Baptist Church, Dixon, officiating. "Peace In The Valley" and "In The Garden" were played for the service. Her great-granddaughter Chelsea sang "Amazing Grace".

Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Ms. Barnett were Donald Barnett, Ricky Barnett, Michael Barnett, Evan Barnett, Blake Barnett, Traci Sooter, Thomas Booker and Samuel Booker. Honorary pallbearers were Dirk Ellis and Bryan Craddock.

Memorials are suggested by the family to the Dixon Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home, Dixon.
