Obituary

Bobbie Lee "Bob" Goodrich, age 92, of Crocker, was born on March 8, 1932, at Buckhorn a son of Seth and Margaret Melzona (Gann) Goodrich and passed from this life on Wednesday morning, October 23, 2024 at Cedarhurst of Lebanon.

Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Miss Geneva Irene Satterfield on December 24, 1954, at the Idumea Church in Laquey and to this union, three sons were born. He was preceded in death by his wife on February 4, 2017; his son, James L. Goodrich on November 28, 2008; his parents, Seth and Melzona; his stepfather, Hal Fagan and three brothers, Herman Goodrich, Charles Goodrich and Oswald Goodrich.

Bob was a United States Air Force veteran. He had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and followed his Lord in baptism early in life. In 1956, he became a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Crocker, where he served as a deacon of the church, trustee, Sunday School teacher and was a member of the choir. He was a member of the Pulaski County Baptist Camp. Along with other members, he helped to build the camp and made numerous contributions over the years so that children would have a safe place to go and learn of God and have fun. One of his last contributions was the monument of the Ten Commandments at the entry to the Camp. He was a member of the Lion's Club, the Committee of 50, Chamber of Commerce, the Masonic Lodge #375 of Waynesville, the Missouri Propane Gas Association and had served as president for the association from 1975-1976 and was on the board for the Crocker Senior Center.

In 1959, Bob and his wife, Geneva started their company, Goodrich Gas, and he continued to work there until 2017 following the death of his beloved wife. He always said "We started together and we finished together".

He continued to stay active in his community and always enjoyed conversations with everyone he came in contact with, never meeting a stranger. Bob spent many hours fishing, taking a spin in his Model T and Model A cars, traveling, listening to gospel music and watching all sports on tv. His greatest joy was  his grandchildren and hearing about their activities and when he was able, he enjoyed going to their sporting events.

While heaven gained another angel, the loss of Bob to his family, community and church will long be remembered for all his unselfish contributions he made.

Those left to mourn the passing of Bob include: his sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Denise Goodrich and Rob and Ann Goodrich; seven grandchildren, Kelly Wilson, Hope Herndon, Michael Pallai, Seth Goodrich, Jay Goodrich, Kayla Danielson and Nicholas Goodrich; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his step-brother, Roland Fagan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Micky Satterfield and sister-in-law, Mariann Goodrich; numerous nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.
