Obituary

Bonnie Jean Hansmann, 76, of Dixon, was born on February 2, 1946, at Dawson, Minnesota a daughter of Glenn and Ardella (Miller) Sumner and departed this life at 4:50 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2022 in the Cedar Pointe Nursing Home, Rolla.

Bonnie was united in marriage in July 1967, in South Dakota to Mr. Erwin J. Hansmann and to this union, one son was born. She was preceded in death by her husband on September 7, 2013; her parents, Glenn and Ardella and one brother, Dale Sumner.

Bonnie was a past member of the Dixon Fire Babes and was instrumental in getting the Dixon Charter of the VFW Post No. 4238 Ladies Auxiliary and had served as President of the Auxiliary. She had worked as a cashier for Dixon Country Mart for several years as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker.

Those left to mourn the passing of Bonnie include: her son and daughter-in-law, Les and LaDonna Hansmann, Dixon; grandchildren, Auston Hansmann and his fiancé, Shelby Smith and Torianna Hansmann; three great grandchildren, Bentley, Prestley and Caden; two brothers and sister-in-law, Weldon and Sandy Sumner, Rolfe, Iowa and Arlen Sumner, Boyd, Minnesota; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Steve Haakinson, Fort Dodge, Iowa and Michele and Ted Nelson, Madison, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Barbara Sumner, Portland, Oregon; and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside memorial services will be held for Bonnie at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022 in the Dixon Cemetery with Pastor Michael Mann, St. Louis officiating.
