Carl Lee Hamilton, of Crocker, was born on August 14, 1945, near Dixon, a son of Chester Carl and Velma Irene (Crismon) Hamilton, and departed this life at 8:55 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at his residence near Crocker. Mr. Hamilton had been in failing health for the past few months and had attained the age of 68 years, 3 months, and 19 days.
After a long courtship of 16 years, Mr. Hamilton was united in marriage on July 14, 1997, at the Hilltop Christian Union Church, Crocker, to Susan Matthies Crawford. He was preceded in death by his father on June 9, 2006; one grandson, Zachary, and a special uncle, Everett Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton joyfully accepted Jesus into his heart on December 2, 2013, one day before his death. He loved tending to his cows and dogs, hunting and fishing especially with his favorite partner, Jessikah, gigging, going to deer camp; ATV rides with his wife around his 4th generation River Field Homestead, visiting with his family, friends and neighbors. Mr. Hamilton had a wonderful work ethic and was a lifelong farmer and logger.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Hamilton include: his wife, Susie Crawford Hamilton, Crocker; his mother, Velma Hamilton, Dixon; two daughters, Rhonda Hamilton and Karla Hamilton, both of Dixon; three stepsons and two daughters-in-law, Richard and Karen Crawford, John and Wanda Crawford and William Crawford, all of Crocker; numerous grandchildren; and many wonderful friends.
Visitation was held from 10:00 a.m. for Mr. Hamilton. Funeral service was conducted at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 7, 2013, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Bro. Billy Claiborn, pastor of the Hilltop Christian Union Church, Crocker, officiating.
Interment was in the Mitchell Chapel Cemetery near Crocker under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mr. Hamilton were Rick Massie, Don Nolte, Butch Shelton, Heath Akery, Greg Bamert and Dave Burke. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Null, Tom Prewett, Felix Helton, John Kinsley, Randy Barillaro and Paul McCoy.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the Mitchell Chapel Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker.
