Carl W.
Lee
Mar 18, 1936 — Mar 27, 2022
Carl Wain Lee, 86, of Rolla, was born on March 18, 1936, at Qulin, a son of Joseph Woodrow and Flossie (Redmon) Lee, and departed this life at 5:40 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2022, in the University Hospital and Clinics, Columbia.
Mr. Lee was united in marriage on November 1, 1955, at Malden, to Miss Lucille Marie Hanneken, and this union was blessed with three children. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his brother Larry, and his sister Alma.
Mr. Lee was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country over five years including Korea, Germany and France. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and owned several businesses throughout his life, including Blacksheep Trike Works. He was a member of the Brothers of the Third Wheel and played in several bands over the years. He loved fellowship with the triker community; cross-country adventures with his family, friends, and doggies; singing and playing guitar; welding things badly and sanding them clean ("grinder and paint makes me the welder I ain't" he always said), and the history of southeast Missouri, especially the Malden area.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Lee include: his children, Cyndi Foulks, Rolla, Carla M. Lee and partner Jake Martin, Rolla, and Michael Lee, Springfield; his grandchildren, Kris Oldham and husband Neal, Lisa French and husband Lee, and Thomas Quick and wife Sarah; his great-grandchildren, Mason, Lana, Harlie, and Grayson; his Uncle Ralph Redmon; his sister-in-law, Marcella Gaines; his sweet dog, Ziggy; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 5 p.m. with Mr. Lee's funeral service at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2022, in the Central Community Church of God, Rolla, with Pastor Dan Phillips officiating.
Graveside services with full military honors will be at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, April 1, 2022, in the Mill Creek Cemetery, Silex, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mr. Lee will be Lee French, Gary Gregory, Mike Lee, Jake Martin, Neal Oldham, and Rick Raglin.
