Carol Diane Bates, of Dixon, was born on July 6, 1951, at Muncie, Indiana, a daughter of Houston and Aliean (Wright) Jones and departed this life at 5:05 a.m., Tuesday morning, April 2, 2013, at her residence near Dixon. Carol had been in failing health and had attained the age of 61 years, 8 months and 26 days.

Carol was a past member of the Pratt Road Baptist Church, Little Rock, Arkansas. During her working life, Carol had worked in a saw mill in Eldon and later as the office manager for a telemarketing firm.

Those left to mourn the passing of Carol include: her mother, Aliean Jones, Gaston, Indiana; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Katie Bates, Bryant, Arkansas; one daughter, Peggy Benton, Mabelvale, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Tiffany and Rachel Benton, both of Mabelvale, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Joelle "Jo" Jones, Dixon; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Sharon and Clint Fillion, Russellville, Arkansas; Angel Delaney and Audrey Fluhr, both of Gaston, Indiana; special friends, Linda Connour and Shane Bryant; uncles; aunts; nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her father.

Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013, with visitation prior to the service from 10 - 11 a.m., all will be held in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon.
