Carole Sue Shattuck, of Crocker, was born on December 29, 1943, at Sullivan, a daughter of George W. and Hazel (Witt), Missey (both have gone to be with the Lord), and departed this life at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2017, at her residence near Crocker. Carole had attained the age of 73 years, 10 months, and 20 days.
On July 15, 1966, at O'Fallon, Carole married Harley "Dean" Shattuck and to this union two children were born. In addition to her parents, George and Hazel, Carole was preceded in death by her beloved father-in-law and mother-in-law, Otto and Norma Shattuck.
Carole was a longtime member of the Crocker Assembly of God Church and had been the secretary for 42 years. She had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse early in life while living in the St. Louis area. She enjoyed reading, quilting, sewing, and antiques, especially dishes and teapots.
Those left to mourn the passing of Carole include: her husband, Harley "Dean" Shattuck, Crocker; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Karen Shattuck, DeSoto, Illinois and Brian and Katrina Shattuck, St. Joseph; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin and Kumiko Missey of Japan and the Rev. Austin and Sharon Missey, Truman, Arkansas; two sisters, Georgie and Albert Blum, Bourbon and Glenda and Dennis Holbrook, Steelville; four grandchildren, Daniel, Abigail, Landon and Raelynn and another one expected in the near future; brothers-in-law, Thomas Shattuck and Paul Shattuck, both of Crocker; all her Christian brothers and sisters and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held for Carole at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2017 in the Crocker Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Austin Missey, Truman, Arkansas officiating.
Interment was in the Crocker Assembly of God Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Carole were Mark Shattuck, Brian Shattuck, Daniel Shattuck, Tom Shattuck, Ray Shattuck and John Shattuck.
