Obituary

Centa Helene (Reisinger) Palanzo Dette, of Dixon, was born September 19, 1921, in Augsburg, Germany, a daughter of Ludwig and Margarethe (Geborene) Reisinger, and departed this life at 10:19 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, in SSM Health St. Mary's, Jefferson City. She had attained the age of 95 years, 1 month, and 9 days.

She was first united in marriage to Roy Palanzo who preceded her in death on October 30, 1987, she later married Raymond Joseph Dette on July 3, 1993, at Argyle, who also preceded her in death on June 14, 2012. In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by one daughter, Karin Prewett on October 29, 2007; her parents; and one sister, Margarita Obletshauser on December 24, 2013.

Mrs. Dette was a member of the St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon, and had attended Culinary School in Germany prior to moving to the United States. She and her first husband owned and operated Palanzo's Store, Dixon, and was a devoted housewife and homemaker, always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. Mrs. Dette enjoyed fishing, painting, gardening, knitting, cooking and baking, attending church and being with her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Dette include: one son-in-law, Jim Prewett, Dixon; one grandson, Jerry Prewett and wife, Barbie, St. James; one granddaughter, Terri Holtsclaw and husband Brian, Dixon; three great grandchildren, Carissa Holtsclaw, Jimmie Holtsclaw, and Charleton Prewett; God son, David Wiles; step children, Mary Jane Jersild and husband, James, Wilmington, Delaware; Catherine Elizabeth Buckley and husband, Larry, Iberia; Rita Marie Baue, West Des Moines, Iowa; Joseph Bernard Dette, Rolla; and Paul Roman Dette and wife, Diane, Dixon; and one sister, Lotte Mayr, Augsburg, Germany.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., Friday, November11, 2016 in the St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Dette at 10:30 a.m., on Friday morning, November 11, 2016, in the St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon, with the Rev. Henry Usher and the Rev. Joseph Hoi as the celebrants.

Interment will be in the St. Theresa Cemetery, Dixon, under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Actives pallbearers for Mrs. Dette are Michael Watson, Joe Dette, Paul Dette, Larry Buckley, Charlie Glasscock and Anthony Russell. Honorary pallbearers are David Wiles, Carissa Holtsclaw, Jimmie Holtsclaw, and Charleton Prewett.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Marian Memorial Fund with envelopes available at the Dixon Office of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
