MRS. CHARLCIE M. HOWSER
Charlcie Maudie Howser, of Dixon, was born on December 18, 1922, in Maries County, a daughter of M. Willard and Mary Ona (McKnolly) Dake and departed this life at 2:52 a.m., Wednesday morning, March 3, 2021 in the SSM Health DePaul Hospital, Bridgeton. Mrs. Howser had attained the age of 98 years, 2 months and 13 days.
Mrs. Howser was united in marriage on March 29, 1947, in Pulaski County, to Richard L. Howser. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 11, 1968; her son, Jimmie Howser on May 11, 1968; her father, Willard in 1968; her mother, Mary Ona in 1982; and six siblings, Wayne Dake, James Dake, Leslie Dake, Willie Dake, Addie Lawson and Katie Howser.
Mrs. Howser was baptized early in life and was a member of the Burnett Church near Dixon. She had worked in St. Louis during the war and then later at Blauer Manufacturing in Iberia. She was also a babysitter for several children as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. Mrs. Howser enjoyed reading, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, cooking and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Howser include: her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and John Motel, Dixon; two grandchildren, Tracey Bechtel and her significant other, Chuck Daugherty, Jefferson City and Tim Cross and his wife, Sandra, Dixon; two step grandchildren, Stephaine Motel and Jonetta Motel; five great-grandchildren, Brianne Bechtel, Jacob Cross, Brendan Bechtel, Mackenzie Cross and Zayn Cross; one sister, Helen R. Nichols, Dixon; sisters-in-law, Ethel Dake, Berniece Atwell and Joye Howser and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 11 until 12 noon service time all on Friday, March 5, 2021 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Bro. David Hokanson and Tommy Nichols officiating. John Motel read the obituary for Mrs. Howser and Chuck Barber sang two of her favorite songs.
Interment in the Seaton Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Howser are Tim Cross, Robert Dake, Robert Beal, Lonnie Vineyard, Bill Howser and Keith Lawson. Honorary pallbearers are Brianne Bechtel, Jacob Cross, Brendan Bechtel, Mackenzie Cross, Zayn Cross, John Motel, Chuck Daugherty, Michael Nichols, Joye Howser and Ella Steiner.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Seaton Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Dixon.
