Charles Hubert Baker, age 71, of Crocker, was born on March 14, 1952 in St. Louis, a son of John Lexie, Sr and Eula Mae (Lovell) Baker and departed this life on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Baker was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He was awarded the National Defense Medal and the Good Conduct Medal before being honorably discharged on November 6, 1970 and attaining the rank of Private.
Following his military service, Mr. Baker worked in construction for several years with Mr. John Schwandt and Mr. Donnie Stokes.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Baker include: his siblings, John Lexie Baker, Jr. of Oklahoma; Jerry Baker of Waynesville; Paulette Duncan, of Iberia and Lucy Baker of Waynesville; numerous nephews and nieces; his friends that he will miss their back yard chats and BBQ's, Andy York and Ostyn; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, John, Sr. on August 14, 1999; his mother Eula Mae on October 15, 2000; his siblings, Robert Baker, Kenneth Paul Baker on August 13, 2023; Rose Johnson and an infant, Dawn Baker.
The family will host a Celebration of Life in the Hawkeye Cemetery near Crocker at a later date and time.
Due to the sudden passing of Charles, the family suggest memorials to help with his funeral expenses.
