Charlsie Agnes Sims, of Warrenton, formerly of Dixon, was born on July 30, 1944, in Kankakee, Illinois, a daughter of Paul Evert and Helen Mary Ann (Vaughan) Jones, and departed this life at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2014, in the Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Peters. Mrs. Sims had attained the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 13 days.
Mrs. Sims was united in marriage on December 24, 1960, in the Santee Church near Dixon, to Mr. William Dean Sims and to this union, two sons were born. She was preceded in death by her father on January 12, 2012 and her mother on February 21, 1996.
Mrs. Sims had been a member of the Santee Community Church, Dixon, where she was baptized in her youth. She worked for Brown Shoe Company, Dixon for 12 years and later for Woodbridge Corporation, St. Peters, for over 20 years, retiring in 2009. She enjoyed bowling, crafts, the outdoors, playing games on her computer and spending time with her family.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Sims include: her husband, Dean Sims, Warrenton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jerry and Janet Sims and Brad Sims, all of Warrenton; three grandchildren, Taylor Sims, Warrenton; Josh Sims and Amber Kennett, both of O'Fallon; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Billie Jones, St. Peters; her Uncle Bill and Aunt Betty Vaughan, Wentzville and Aunt Mona Jones, Dixon; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Sims at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2014, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Rev. Ron Burns officiating.
Interment was in the West Fairview Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Sims were Jerry Sims, Brad Sims, Mike Vaughan, Mark Vaughan, Mike Jones and Darryl Jones. Doug Burnett served as honorary pallbearer.
