Cherry Jean Pursley, age 64 of Crocker, was born on August 14, 1958, in DeRidder, Louisiana a daughter of Ralph Monell and Frieda May (Kelley) Pursley. She departed this life on Saturday evening December 10, 2022 in the Phelps Health Hospital of Rolla.

Cherry was united in marriage in 1974, in St. Louis to Wayne (Bud) Voll Pursley, Jr. and to this union, three children were born. Cherry was baptized as a young woman, and at the time of her passing, was a member of the Amazing Grace Fellowship Church in Crocker. She worked as a team driver with Bud for many years before co-owning her family business, "Pursley Trucking," as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. Cherry enjoyed working in her flower gardens, bible study time, camping, cooking, and spending time with family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Cherry include: her husband, Bud Pursley, Crocker; her daughters, Dana (Chad) Thornsberry, Crocker, and Christy (Brandon) Gibler, Trenton; seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Sierra, Andrea, Brice, Kelsey, Kinsley, and Brady; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Bodhi; one sister, Jeana George, Crocker; uncles, aunts, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by an infant son; her father, Ralph Monell; her mother, Freida Pursley; her stepfather, Wayne Pursley, Sr.; three brothers, infant Thadius Monell, William Monell, and Ronald Monell; and one sister, Sharon Brunston.

Visitation will be held for Cherry from 10-11 a.m., with her funeral service at 11 a.m., all on Thursday, December 15, 2022 in the Amazing Grace Fellowship Church, Crocker with Pastor Richard Harris officiating.

Interment will be at the Assembly of God Cemetery, Crocker under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Cherry are Bud Pursley, Brandon Gibler, Brice Gibler, Joe Hutchison, Shawn Vergara, and Dave Workman.

Memorial contributions are suggested per the wishes of the family, with envelopes available at the church on the day of service, or the office of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
