Cheryl Lynn Secrest, of Linn, formerly of Dixon, was born on December 16, 1974, in St. Louis, a daughter of Harold Dale and Barbara Sue (Oliver) Chaffin and departed this life at 8:18 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2015, in the Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Cheryl had attained the age of 40 years, 6 months and 11 days.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Harold on July 2, 2003 and her mother, Barbara on February 22, 2004.
Cheryl married the love of her life and soul mate, Daine Aaron Secrest, on November 27, 2004. They were high school sweethearts and had spent the last 24 years together. They were blessed with a daughter, Olivia Dawn on April 5, 2009. That day was one of the happiest days of their lives and Olivia was their whole world.
Cheryl was a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker, and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. She loved her family and friends and all her animals. She was the one to always organize the family gatherings for the holidays and kept everyone informed of each other's life events. Cheryl would take in stray and wounded animals and nurse them back to health.
Cheryl was also an organ and blood donor so that she could help other people, she was a very loving and giving person.
Those left to cherish Cheryl's memories include: her husband and daughter, Daine Secrest and Olivia Dawn Secrest both of the home in Linn; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary L. and Dorsianne Secrest of Dixon; one brother, Glen (Sheila) Chaffin, Dixon; three sisters, Lisa (Kenny) Moore, Brinktown, Tina Thompson, state of Ohio and Kimberly (Mike) Kelsay, Iberia; one sister-in-law, Carrie (Billy) Tollison, Dixon; extended family from St. Louis and many other relatives and friends.
A graveside memorial service under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon, will be held for Cheryl at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2015, in the Seaton Cemetery near Dixon, with Layetta Haynes officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made per the wishes of the family or to the Daine and Olivia Secrest Memorial Fund C/O the Maries County Bank.
