Obituary

Chris Joe "Bucky" Miller, age 85, of Crocker, was born April 23, 1936, near Crocker, a son of Edward Presley and Mary Katherine (Null) Miller, and passed from this life Sunday, December 5, 2021, in Life Care Center, Waynesville.

He was a victim and survivor of the Polio epidemic of the 1930's but always maintained a zest for life with his disability.  Chris was a 1955 graduate of  Crocker High School and served as president of his class.  Being proud of his cars, he was really partial to his '55 Chevy, his Chevy Chevelle, and his Olds Cutlass.  During his working life, Chris was a Taxi Driver for Belle Cab Company, St. Robert, until his retirement.  For pastime, Chris liked to hang with Swinger and the guys at Chuck's Detail Shop and the Hub German Restaurant & Lounge, both in St. Robert.

He especially enjoyed going fishing with his brother, Bobby, on the Gasconade River, on the Osage River below Bagnell Dam, or on the Lake of the Ozarks.  Chris looked forward to family gatherings for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and any special occasion at the homeplace or the "South Forty" as it was known, where he lived near Crocker.  During the Christmas season, he enjoyed the smell of Cedar and always decorated a fresh cut tree for Christmas.  Chris had made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior and was a person thankful for the blessings the Lord bestowed on him during his life.

Those left to mourn the passing of Chris include:  Two sisters, Shirleen Denham of El Paso, Texas, and Elsie Smith of Wainwright, Oklahoma; nephews; nieces; great and great-great-nephews and nieces; cousins; and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Miller; three brothers, Junior Miller, Carroll Stevenson, and Bobby Lee Miller; and two sisters, Betty Cathey and Frances Ann Miller.
