Christian Edward "Chris" Adamson, of Crocker, was born on July 27, 1935, in Miller County a son of Johnny and Catherine Jane (Walters) Adamson and departed this life at 11:40 a.m., Saturday morning, May 30, 2020 in the Mercy Hospital Lebanon. Mr. Adamson had been in failing health and had attained the age of 84 years, 10 months and 3 days.
Mr. Adamson was united in marriage on May 23, 1958, in the Crocker Christian Church to Edna June Brotherton and to this union, three children were born. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Diana Linn Adamson on January 5, 1959; his father, Johnny on February 18, 1988; his mother, Catherine on May 23, 2007; his sister, Donna Weaver on December 24, 2004 and a brother-in-law, Don Weaver on March 21, 2018.
Mr. Adamson was baptized on May 13, 1962 by Bill Posey and was faithful member of the Crocker Christian Church where he had served as a Deacon, Usher and bell ringer.
Mr. Adamson had worked at Oakwood Texaco while in high school and later became owner and operator of Oakwood Texaco Service Station and Wreckers for over 35 years and Chris's I-44 Service for 7 years. He was a member of the Waynesville Masonic Lodge 375 A.F. & A.M. and the Shriner's for fifty years and was a charter member of the "Masters" Missouri Highway Patrol. Mr. Adamson enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, tinkering with things and weed eating.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Adamson include: his wife, Edna June Adamson, Crocker; his son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Sherry Adamson; his daughter and son-in-law, Felicia and Pete Jeffries, all of Crocker; three brothers, Johnny "Jr" (Betty Jo) Adamson, Crocker; Roger (Jennifer) Adamson, Kansas City, MO and Larry (Kay) Adamson, Springfield; four grandchildren, Natalee, Eric, Jeff and Elizabeth; two step-grandchildren, Jill and Ashley; six great-grandchildren, Gunner, Blaine, Zander, Chloe, Emma and Wyatt; and many other relatives and friends.
There was always an understanding between fishing buddies, Bro. John, Brum and Chris, Chris caught the fish and they cleaned em!
Visitation from 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in the Crocker Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held for Mr. Adamson at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 in the Crocker Christian Church with Larry Richardson officiating.
Interment in the St. John's Swede Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mr. Adamson are Roy Bowling, Gunner Todd, Danny Weaver, Darin Adamson, Nathan Adamson and Ken Adamson. Honorary pallbearers are Emmett Brumley, Shon Adamson, Dennis Ringer and Zack Adamson.
Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Parkinson's Foundation with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker or Dixon.
