Obituary

Clarence Odell Proctor, Jr., of Crocker, was born on December 28, 1934, at Winnsboro, South Carolina, a son of Clarence Odell, Sr. and Effie Lee (Braham) Proctor, and departed this life at 6:45 a.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012, at his residence near Crocker. Mr. Proctor had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 77 years, 10 months and 17 days.

Mr. Proctor was united in marriage on June 19, 1959, at Winnsboro, South Carolina, to Florence Marie Boulware and to this union five children were born. He was preceded in death by one son, Randy Proctor; his parents; two grandchildren, Timothy Proctor and Kimberly Proctor; five brothers, Herman Proctor, Bobby Proctor, Terry Proctor, Ray Proctor and Jerry Proctor and two sisters, Nina Adkins and Vickie Trusdale.

Mr. Proctor was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Hilltop Christian Union Church, Crocker. He had worked in heating and cooling for Goodrich Gas, retiring after 18 years. Mr. Proctor had a passion for hunting, fishing, NASCAR, football, blue grass and gospel music and watching old westerns.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Proctor include: his wife, Marie Proctor, Crocker; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Barbara Proctor and Tim and Jackie Proctor all of Crocker and Joseph and Mary Ann Proctor, Rolla; one daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Farrell Taylor, Crocker; five brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Brenda Proctor, Tommy and Jonette Proctor, Larry and Sandra Proctor, Odell and Betty Proctor and Clerf and Jean Adkins, all of Winnsboro, South Carolina; one sister, Pat Wells, Winnsboro, South Carolina; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Proctor at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 18, 2012, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Bro. Billy Claiborn, pastor of the Hilltop Christian Union Church, Crocker, officiating. Three favorite hymns were played for the service.

Interment with full military honors was in the Fox Crossing Cemetery, near Dixon, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mr. Proctor were David Roam, Bob Knudson, Dale Barnhart, Thomas Shattuck, Melvin Dodge and Rowdy Singleton.
