Cynthia Kay Sinden, of Dixon, was born on January 17, 1966, at Perryville, a daughter of Vernon and Esther (Oehlert) Petzoldt and departed this life at 1:20 P.M., Thursday, February 5, 2015, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. Cynthia had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 49 years and 19 days.
Cynthia was united in marriage on June 10, 2006, at New Wells, to Paul James Sinden. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon on September 27, 1976.
Cynthia was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, St. Robert and the Teachers Association. She was a graduate of South East Missouri State University and William Woods and had taught Special Education for the Dixon R-1 School District for over 23 years. She especially enjoyed scrap booking, reading, helping people and watching TV.
Those left to mourn the passing of Cynthia include: her husband, Paul Sinden, Dixon; two daughters, Briana King and Adriana King, both of Dixon; two step-daughters, Nicole Sinden and Jessica Sinden, both of Dixon; one granddaughter, Hannah Shockley; her mother, Esther Petzoldt, Shawnee Town; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elva and Fay Sinden, Dixon; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Tina and Mark Riehn, Millersville; Pamela and Robert Wenger, St. Peters and Renae Petzoldt, Jackson; nephews; nieces and many other relatives and friend.
Funeral services were conducted for Cynthia at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 7, 2015, in the Faith Lutheran Church, St. Robert with Rev. John Perling, St. Louis, officiating. The congregation sang "Amazing Grace" and "The Will of God Is Always Best" for the funeral service.
Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Cynthia were Zachery Wenger, Tim Welp, Levi Sinden, John Riehn, Carl Brooks and Steve Sinden. Honorary pallbearer was JR Sinden.
