Daniel John Blessing, of Rolla, was born on October 3, 1981, a son of Michael John and Karen Ann (Winter) Blessing, and departed this life at 9:10 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2016, in Maries County. Daniel had attained the age of 34 years, 3 months, and 9 days.
Coming from a family of United States Air Force veterans, Daniel joined the United States Air Force in 2004 and was medically retired in 2013. He was awarded and entitled to the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award, AF Good Conduct Medal with 1 oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, AF Longevity Service with 1 oak leaf cluster, USAF NCO PME Graduate Ribbon, small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon (Rifle), and the AF Training Ribbon. Daniel was considered a modern day inventor and maker and at the time of his passing was in his second year at Missouri S&T, Rolla. He loved to build things, especially airplanes and RC cars and enjoyed woodworking.
Those left to mourn the passing of Daniel include: his father and mother, Michael and Karen Blessing, Crocker; one sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Adam Calcarone, O'Fallon, Illinois; three nephews, Vincent, Dominic and Nicolas; his puppy, Archimedes; and many other relatives and friends.
