Obituary

Danny Willard Simpson, of Dixon, was born on September 16, 1952, at Waynesville, a son of Willard Melvin and Mercedes (Irwin) Simpson, and departed this life on Thursday, October 3, 2013 near Dixon. Danny had attained the age of 61 years and 17 days.

Danny was united in marriage on September 15, 2012, at their home in Dixon, to Kristie Marie McCormick. He was preceded in death by his father on October 30, 1994; an infant son, Heth Adam Simpson on July 17, 1975; two sisters, infant Janice Simpson on August 15, 1955 and Alice Simpson on March 22, 2000 and his grandparents.

Danny was president of the Sheppard Cemetery Board and a past member of the Dixon Volunteer Fire Department. He had worked as truck driver.

Those left to mourn the passing of Danny include: his wife, Kristie Simpson, Dixon; his mother, Mercedes Simpson, Dixon; two sons, Daniel Simpson and James Lawson, both of Dixon; five daughters, Lauren Simpson, Haley Simpson, Amber Lawson, Ashley Snyder and Taylor Snyder, all of Dixon; one sister and brother-in-law, Myra and Jim Schaffner, Dixon; one grandson, Hunter Albrecht, Dixon; two nieces, Mindy Schaffner and Kristy Shupe; two great-nephews, Cole and Chris Shupe; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Danny at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2013, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Mike Yelton, Washington, Missouri and Pastor Art Gormley, Jr., Pisgah Baptist Church, Dixon, officiating.

Interment was in the Sheppard Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Danny were Doug Martin, Paul Helton, Donnie Wayne Alexander, James Lawson, Matt Bailey and Greg Asher. Honorary pallbearer was Daniel Simpson.
