Obituary

David Clayton Armstrong, age 67, of Dixon, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on
Sunday, July 27, 2025.

David was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 29, 1957, to Clayton and Louise Armstrong. In 1962, he moved to Missouri with his family as they returned to their hometown of Paris. David graduated from Paris High School in 1976 and also attended Hart Vocational Technical School in Mexico, MO, where he studied to become an electrician.

David was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Paris, MO. On June 10, 1982, he married Lorraine Lawson in Stoutsville, MO. Throughout his life, he held various positions, primarily in the electrical and maintenance fields. Most recently, he served as a maintenance provider for the Trail House Restaurant & Trailer Court in Camdenton, MO—a position he held for several years. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and generous spirit. David had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in nature—gardening, exploring, fishing, metal detecting or simply taking in the fresh air.

He is survived by his mother, Louise Armstrong of Paris; a special friend, Tonya Atterberry of Dixon; a special nephew, Dustin Templeton of Dixon; a grandson he raised, Anthony Blair of Dixon; three sisters: Joyce (Tim) Arnett of Paris, Julie Wood of Madison, and Jeane (Randy) Kirchner of Lohman; two daughters, April and Amanda; one stepdaughter, Melissa (Justin) of Crocker; one stepson, Allen of Iberia; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Armstrong; his grandparents, John and Nettie Armstrong and Riley and Clara Stevenson; and his wife, Lorraine Armstrong.

Services will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home in Dixon, MO. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with service to follow. Interment will be in the Jim Matt Lawson Cemetery near Dixon.

Memorials may be made in memory of David Armstrong per the wishes of the family.
