David Lee "PawPaw Dave" Burnett, 63, was born on August 8, 1957, at Waynesville, a son of Robert Lynn and Freda Mae (Skinner) Burnett and departed this life at 8:02 p.m., Tuesday evening, June 15, 2021 at his residence.

David was baptized early in life while attending the Gasconade Baptist Church near Dixon. He went to work for the Sellenriek Company in 2011 and always went above and beyond what was asked of him with a smile. He was foreman on many projects, materials guy and later became a job site inspector. He was affectionately known as "PawPaw Dave" to his coworkers. David was a member of the Operating Union, St. Louis. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, old Western movies, scratch off tickets and playing cards with the family at "Friday Game Night."

Those left to mourn the passing of David include: his children, Daniel Burnett, Dixon; Casie (Richard) Horn, Ocean Springs, Mississippi; Suzi (Josh) Lachowicz and Becky Bierman all of Dixon; his mother and step-father, Freda and Fred Tripp, Dixon; his siblings, Darrell (Darlane) Burnett, Dixon; Doug (Lisa) Burnett and Dennis (Kim) Burnett, all of Warrenton; Darlene (Randy) Jones, Vienna; Diana (Mike) Bivins, Dixon and Denise (Hal) Bursett, Willard; 12 grandchildren, Gage, Haydn, Emma, Kyler, Ammie, Tyler, Westin, Piper, Kolten, Daniel, Laine, Sophia and one expected at any time; numerous nephews, nieces, his work family and many other relatives and friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, Robert on March 26, 2002; his brother, Dale on July 5, 1999; his nephew, Bobby Burnett on May 2, 2018 and his sister-in-law, Connie Burnett on August 1, 2009.
