David Allen Strutton, of Crocker, was born on October 5, 1952, at Iberia, a son of Walter "Dick" and Della Louisa (Holt) Strutton and departed this life at 4:32 a.m., Thursday, September 24, 2015, at his residence near Crocker. David had attained the age of 62 years, 11 months, and 19 days.

David was preceded in death by his father on March 3, 1978; his mother on March 30, 2014; one nephew; one niece; and one brother-in-law, Tom Huntington on September 13, 2005.

David served in the United States Army for over 7 years doing one tour in Germany and was a recruiting officer at the time of his honorable discharge having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a lifetime member and had served as Service Officer of the Crocker VFW Post No. 4956 and was a former member and Commander of the Crocker American Legion No. 195.

David had worked in construction and maintenance for the Lodge of the Four Seasons Golf Course and later at the Pulaski County Court House. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, the St. Louis Cardinals, visiting with friends, listening to old time country music and country gospel, but most of all being with his grandchildren.

Those left to mourn the passing of David include: one son, David Allen, II; one step-son, Brian; two daughters, Kimberly and Sarah; one step-daughter, Kristina; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Darrell and Rita Strutton and Steven and Sherry Strutton, all of Crocker; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary and Bill Dake and Shirley Huntington, all of Crocker; Dorothy and Steve Lamb, Shakopee, Minnesota and Alice Strutton, Crocker; several grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held for David at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 28, 2015, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Bro. Bill Claiborn pastor of the Hilltop Christian Union Church, Crocker officiating.

Interment with full military honors was in the Bethany Cemetery near Crocker under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for David were Richard Strutton, Kevin Strutton, Scott Huntington, James Dake, Steven Strutton and Steve Lamb. Honorary Pallbearer was Dwight Helton.
