Obituary

Dean Edward Lawson, of Dixon, was born on March 6, 1951, at Dixon, a son of Floyd Memory and Margaret Addaline "Addie" (Dake) Lawson, and departed this life Sunday, September 6, 2015, near Dixon. Dean had attained the age of 64 years and 6 months.


Dean was united in marriage on April 18, 1969, at the Burnett Fundamental Christian Church near Dixon, to Miss Joyce Ann Doyle and to this union, two children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and "Addie" Lawson.

Dean had accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and followed his Lord in baptism early in life. He was owner and operator of Lawson Trucking Cattle Hauling, Dixon as well as being a lifelong farmer in the Pulaski County area. He enjoyed NASCAR and reading, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, his boys and his grandchildren.

Those left to mourn the passing of Dean include: his wife, Joyce Lawson, Dixon; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sammye Lawson and Keith Lawson, all of Dixon; one brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Marrietta, High Ridge; two sisters, Maxine French and Linda Robinett both of Dixon; five grandchildren, Becky, Colton, Tyler, Cooper and Jake; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Dean at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 2015 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Bro. Bill Claiborn pastor of the Hilltop Christian Union Church, Crocker, officiating.

Interment was in the Jim Matt Lawson Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Dean were Danny Lane, Jason Robinett, Arlis Humphrey, Shane Newkirk, Ronnie Sanders and Donnie Boulware. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Doyle, Jerry Smith, Clark Sheek, Mark Snelson and Robert Lowrance.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dean per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
