Debra Jean Kampeter, age 62, of Dixon, died Monday, December 29, 2025, at her residence near Dixon. She was born February 28, 1963, in Rolla to Von J. "Don" and Doris Jean (Sneed) Conner.
Debbie was baptized early in life at First Baptist Church, Dixon, and at the time of her passing was a member of the Kenner Church of God, near Dixon.
Debbie was a lifelong resident of Dixon, MO. She graduated from Dixon High School in 1981 and went on to obtain a degree in Agriculture from Southwest Missouri State University. She was able to move back to her great-grandparent's family farm with her mother in the early 1980's. Debbie loved being on the farm and working it with her mother. On November 29, 1997, at the Kenner Church of God, near Dixon, Debbie was united in marriage to Douglas Edward Kampeter, and to this union, two children were born. She was able to enjoy her marriage and raise her children on the family farm, which they all enjoyed. Debbie was an avid member in the Kenner Church of God for most of her life, where she loved attending and participating in church activities.
Debbie worked multiple jobs where she developed strong relationships and friendships. She was employed at the Walmart Distribution Center in St. James from 2001 until in 2013 when she was forced to change jobs due to the passing of her husband, Doug. She was a social worker with the State of Missouri, where she particularly helped elderly people and foster families, which gave her great fulfillment. She enjoyed history, sewing, collecting antiques, cooking, spending time with her animals, spending time with friends and family, and most of all raising her two children.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Shannon Kampeter and wife, Amy, and daughter and son-in-law, Doria Brannock and husband, Brendan all of Dixon, and many other relatives and friends.
Those preceding her in death were her husband, Doug on October 19, 2013; father, Von on July 30, 1977; and her mother, Doris on October 1, 2001.
Visitation for Mrs. Debra Kampeter will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her service at 12 Noon, on Saturday, January 3, 2026 in the Kenner Church of God, 17996 Maries Road 505, Dixon, Missouri 65459, with Pastor Beverly Sharp officiating.
Interment will be in the Kenner Cemetery under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Kampeter will be Wes Kampeter, Dustin Stegeman, Alex Easterling, Will Shelton, Scott Reichel, and Trevor Libbert.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Kampeter are suggested per wishes of the family with envelopes available at the church on the day of her service or in care of Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.O. Box GG, Dixon, Missouri 65459
