Obituary

Della Louisa Strutton, of Crocker, was born on September 6, 1927, at Jefferson City, Tennessee, a daughter of Stanley Gray and Alice Lovina (Murr) Holt, and departed this life at 5:26 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2014. Louisa had been in failing health and had attained the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 24 days.

Louisa was united in marriage on May 4, 1942, at Waynesville to Mr. Walter "Dick" Strutton, and to this union, seven children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 3, 1978; her parents; three brothers, Gene, Roy and Donald Holt; two sisters, Mary Jane Larson and Alice Mae Holt; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Louisa was a member of the Goodwill Baptist Church and later attended the Hilltop Christian Union Church, Crocker and was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4956, Crocker. She had worked at the Iberia Factory and then for the H.D. Lee Factory, Richland, as a seamstress, retiring in 1990. Louisa enjoyed gardening, flowers, mushroom hunting and her chickens, but above all being with her family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Louisa include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Darrell and Rita Strutton, David Strutton and Steven and Sherry Strutton, all of Crocker; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary and Bill Dake, Crocker; Shirley Huntington, Crocker; Dorothy and Steve Lamb, Shakopee, Minnesota and Alice Strutton, Crocker; nineteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two nieces; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Louisa were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2014, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Bro. Bill Claiborn, Hilltop Christian Union Church, Crocker, officiating.

Interment was in the Bethany Cemetery near Crocker under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Louisa were Jim Dake, Scott Huntington, Casey Lamb, Richard Strutton, Steven Strutton and Zachary Lamb. Honorary pallbearers were Chris McCurley, David Strutton, II, Lukas Lamb and Kevin Strutton.
