Derek Christopher Parker of Dixon, was born on August 24, 1984, at Fort Leonard Wood, a son of Hugh and Melody Kay (Tucker) Parker and departed this life at 1:56 p.m., Sunday, July 21, 2019, at his residence. Derek had attained the age of 34 years, 10 months and 27 days.

Derek was baptized and had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and at the time of his passing was attending the Grace Community Church, Dixon. Derek was very artistically talented and loved to draw.  He had worked at Quaker Window Products, Freeburg.

Those left to mourn the passing of Derek include: his father and step-mother, Hugh "Red" and Jane Parker, state of Florida; one daughter, Alana Parker, state of Wisconsin; his grandparents, Warren and Jodi Cooper, Dixon; two brothers, Joshua Mott, stationed overseas and Zachary Parker, state of Florida; two sisters, Hannah Mott, state of New York and Sarah Parker, state of Florida; one of his best friends, Desri Robertson and many other relatives and friends.

Derek was preceded in death by his mother, Melody on July 9, 2018; his grandfather, Robert L. Tucker and one brother, Andrew Mott.

Funeral services will be held for Derek at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home, with Pastor Ryan Hogshooter, Grace Community Church, Dixon officiating.

Memorials are suggested per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
