Obituary

Dolores L. Colby, age 88 of Dixon, was born on January 4, 1935, at York, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Clarence and Beatrice (Wermer) Albright and departed this life on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in the University Hospital and Clinics, Columbia.

Mrs. Colby was united in marriage in 1957 in New Windsor, Maryland to Donald Dean Colby who preceded her in death on August 19, 2022. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Calvin Reed; one daughter, Ingrid Colby; her parents and her siblings.

She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, St. Robert. Mrs. Colby had retired from Brown Shoe Company, Dixon and was a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. She enjoyed going to car shows and riding in the big rig with her husband when he was driving over the road.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Colby include: her children, Linda Bellamy and her husband, James of  Rock, West Virginia; Jennifer Colby, state of Pennsylvania and Clarence Colby of Dixon; four grandchildren, James Bellamy, Donald Bellamy, David Harford and Madison Harford; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held for Mrs. Colby from 10 until 11 a.m., on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Waynesville with Pastor John Perling, Faith Lutheran Church, St. Robert officiating.
