Obituary

Don Robert Brown, of Crocker, was born on January 15, 1937, in Wagoner, Oklahoma a son of James Carl and Pluma (Carmack) Brown and departed this life at 2:10 a.m. on Friday morning, March 20, 2020 in the Richland Care Center. Mr. Brown had been in failing health and had attained the age of 83 years, 2 months and 5 days.

Mr. Brown was united in marriage on July 2, 1955, in the Crocker Christian Church to Betty Jean Walters and to this union, three children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 9, 2017; his father in 1986; his mother in 1996; four grandchildren, Jordan Larissa Brown, Thomas Scott Foster, Maxwell Owen Sheeley and Kayla Dawn Brown and one brother, Doyle J. Brown.

Mr. Brown was a graduate of the Crocker High School. He was baptized early in life and was a faithful member of the Crocker Christian Church. Mr. Brown had worked as an electric lineman for Laclede Electric retiring after 40 years of service. He loved gardening, riding horses, wood working, fishing, hunting and being surrounded by family. His most favorite time was the weekly Sunday dinners spent with family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Brown include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Vicki Brown, Dixon; Joe and Lou Brown, Crocker; one daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Jeff Sheeley, Richland; one sister, Wilma Brown, Crocker; seven grandchildren, Kristina, Andrew, Brian, Jamie, Seth, Lucas and Lance; nine great-grandchildren, Elaina, Riley, Alli, Grayson, Olivia, Mya, Owen, Eastyn and Brooklyn and many other relatives and friends.

It is with heavy hearts, and keeping the well-being of others in mind, Mr. Brown's family will be having private family services for their father.

Private interment will be in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mr. Brown are Andrew Brown, Brian Brown, Seth Brown, Lucas Sheeley, Lance Sheeley, Brian Foster and Alex Shelton. Honorary pallbearers are Grayson Shelton, Riley Foster, Eastyn Sheeley and Owen Sheeley.

Memorials are suggested by the family to the Crocker Christian Church or to the Richland Care Center.
