Dorothy Maxine Krouse, age 97, of Crocker, was born on March 24, 1927, at Ira, Missouri, a daughter of Mark and Wilma (Potter) Claiborn and passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, June 25, 2024.

She was united in marriage to Roy H. Krouse on November 24, 1953, at Crocker, and to this union, two children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on July 21, 1992; her son, Joe Roy Krouse on December 24, 2020; her parents, Mark and Wilma; three brothers, Cecil, Chester and Jim Claiborn; two sisters, Joann Smith and Ruby Pauline Case and her beloved dog, Muffin.

Dorothy was a member of the Crocker Presbyterian Church and lived the majority of her life on a farm in Crocker. She was the second oldest of nine kids and enjoyed time with her family. Dorothy loved all animals, especially her dog, Muffin and enjoyed watching the birds outside her window eating out of her many birdfeeders as well as reading her newspaper each day page to page. She will be remembered for being a sweet, kind and gentle person.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Nancy Krouse of Austin, Minnesota; her sister, Joyce Humphrey and brothers, Bill Claiborn and Jerry Claiborn, all of Crocker; many nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held for Dorothy from 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2024 with her funeral immediately following at 11 a.m., all in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Bro. Bill Claiborn officiating.

Interment will be in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
