Douglas Lee George, age 78, of Dixon, was born on February 8, 1946, at Waynesville, a son of Elzie and Ruby (McKinnon) George and passed from this life on Saturday, January 18, 2025 in the Life Care Center, Waynesville.
Doug was united in marriage on March 15, 1965 in Baltimore, Maryland to Delores Arreguin and to this union, four daughters were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elzie and Ruby; his siblings, Greg George, Pam Boevingloh, Marlene Melton, Shirley Green, Genevieve Medley, Prentice Holder, Randy George and Berniece Walters and the mother of his children, Delores.
Doug was baptized early in life and had attended the Sweet Home Church in Crocker. He attended Needmore School and later Dixon School. Doug was one of the very best dry-waller and painter in the Dixon and surrounding area for many years, retiring in 2004. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and mushroom hunting and could always fix things. He loved his daughters and it was common to see all four of them riding along in his pick up truck at early ages.
Those left to mourn the passing of Doug include: his children, Tina George; Jacquie Hidalgo and her husband, David; Molly Euler and her husband, Mike and Crystal Tadlock all of Dixon; his grandchildren, Ciara, Lashay, Kyle, Kristopher, Magan, Levi, Bryce and Madison; his great-grandchildren, Sophie, Cameron, Natilee, Madelyn, Kash and Kaden; numerous nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held for Doug from 10 a.m. until the time of his service at 12 noon all on Friday, January 24, 2025 in the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel at 205 West Third Street, Dixon, with Justin Smith officiating.
Interment will be in the Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Douglas Lee George are suggested by his family to the Pulaski County Group Home of Crocker or the Pulaski County Sheltered Workshop with envelopes available at the funeral home the day of his service or in care of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services P.O. Box GG, Dixon, MO 65459.
