Eleanor Marie (Vaughan) Humphrey Baugher, of Osage Beach, formerly of Dixon, was born on July 20, 1942, at Dixon, in Maries County, a daughter of Rockford Adolph Washington and Eleanor Mary (Clark) Vaughan and departed this life at 11:45 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2020 in the Osage Beach Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Osage Beach. Mrs. Baugher had been in failing health and had attained the age of 78 years, 2 months and 15 days.
Mrs. Baugher was first united in marriage on August 12, 1961, to Charles Humphrey and to this union, two children were born. Mr. Humphrey preceded his wife in death on April 4, 1979. She was later united in marriage on October 26, 1979 to Robert "Bob" Baugher who preceded his wife in death on May 16, 2001. In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Baugher was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Sarah O'Connor on November 25, 1990 and Maddie O'Connor on May 21, 1997; her father, Rockford on November 16, 1965; her mother, Eleanor on April 25, 1996; two brothers, Ralph "Bud" Vaughan on November 24, 2009 and Dwayne Vaughan on September 15, 2014 and a sister, Mildred Keeran.
Mrs. Baugher was baptized in the Jones Creek near Dixon while attending the Burnett Christian Church. After remarrying and moving to Harris, Missouri she became a member of the Newtown Baptist church where she served in many capacities. After she and Bob retired from their farm she was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist Church, Trenton and then a member of the First Baptist Church in Plattsburg. While living in Dixon, she had worked for Brown Shoe Company and then was a secretary for the Tenth Street Baptist Church, Trenton as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker. She enjoyed painting with & selling Artex paints, baking and decorating cakes for many weddings and other occasions, sewing, and doing crafts.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Baugher include: her children, Russel Humphrey, Rocky Mount and Susan "Suzy" (Patrick) O'Connor, Plattsburg; her step-children, James (Linda) Baugher, Lucerne, Joyce Williams and Mary Stimpson both of Chillicothe; one sister, Pearl (Jim) Humphrey, Dixon; eight grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with the funeral service 11:00 a.m., on Friday, October 9, 2020 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Rev. Charles Kempf, Mount Carmel Baptist Church, Lake Ozark officiating.
Interment will be in the West Fairview Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Baugher are Riley O'Connor, Shawn Stimpson, Jason Stimpson, Tony Vaughan, Arlis Humphrey and Donnie Hughes. Honorary pallbearer is Bryan O'Connor.
Memorials in memory of Mrs. Baugher may be made per the wishes of the family with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
