Ed
Humphrey
Mar 28, 1936 — Feb 17, 2026
Gordon Edward Humphrey (89) was invited home by his heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Ed was born on March 28, 1936, in Jefferson City, Missouri to Georgia (Leek) and Henry Edward Humphrey. He married Shirley (Deckard) on September 22, 1956, and to this union three children were born: Michael (Missie) Humphrey of Newburg, Missouri; Mark (Rita) Humphrey of Jefferson City, Missouri; and Lisa (Cliff) Woodman of Shipman, Illinois. Ed is also survived by eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; his brother Jim (Pearl) Humphrey of Dixon, Missouri; his sister Treva (Steve) Brown of Dixon, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents Georgia and Henry Edward Humphrey; two brothers, Charles and Jackie Humphrey; and his sister, Edna Hudspeth.
Ed served in the US Navy and held employment with Highland Dairy, Dixon R-1 School District, and Brown Shoe Company. Ed also worked on construction and landscaping projects at Fort Leonard Wood and Lake of the Ozarks. Ed enjoyed his many fishing and hunting adventures, but music touched his soul. You could often hear Ed whistling a tune or faithfully playing the drums at Gasconade Baptist Church. He accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at an early age which developed into a lifetime of serving and honoring Christ through his gentle spirit, his forgiving nature, his deep devotion and becoming a fervent prayer warrior.
Visitation will be held for Ed from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 12:00 noon, all on Friday, February 20, 2026, in the Gasconade Baptist Church at 16349 Holtsman Road, Dixon with Rev. Josh Sutton and Rev. Cliff Woodman officiating.
Interment will be in the Gasconade Cemetery under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
Memorials are suggested by the family to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home 11300 St. Charles Rock Road, Bridgeton, MO 63044 or envelopes will be available at the church the day of his service or c/o the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home, P.O. Box GG, Dixon, MO 65459
