Obituary

Edith Maria Humphrey, of Dixon, was born on December 7, 1921, at Vienna, Austria, a daughter of August and Bertha (Petrikovitch) Kopriva, and departed this life at 4:03 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. Mrs. Humphrey had been in failing health and had attained the age of 91 years, 8 months and 27 days.

Mrs. Humphrey was united in marriage on October 5, 1945, at St. Louis, to Manuel Humphrey and to this union two daughters were born. She was preceded by her husband in April 1982; her father and mother; two grandchildren, Craig Goggin and Dustin Goggin and one brother, August Kopriva.

Mrs. Humphrey was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of the Think and Do Club, Dixon. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening as well as being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Humphrey include: two daughters and one son-in-law, Chyral Hanger, Holts Summit and Jennie and Dale Helderman, Bellflower; four grandchildren, Heidi, Heather, Holly and Seth; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.

A graveside memorial service under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2013, in the Dixon Cemetery with Rev. Henry Ussher, associate pastor, St. Theresa Catholic Church, Dixon officiating.

Memorials are suggested by the family to the Alzheimer's Association with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
