MRS. EFFIE Z. JAMES

Effie Zuba James, of Crocker, was born on June 14, 1918, at Crocker, a daughter of Voycie and Surrildia (McMillian) Kimmel and departed this life at 6:15 a.m., Monday, October 15, 2012, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehab Center, Dixon. Mrs. James had been in failing health and had attained the age of 94 years, 4 months and 1 day.

Mrs. James was united in marriage on July 11, 1955, at Hernando, Mississippi to Max Willard James. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 17, 1997; one daughter, Jessica Sue Barton and her parents.

Mrs. James was baptized early in life and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Crocker. During her working life, she was a manager for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), at Fort Leonard Wood, retiring on July 1, 1973. Mrs. James enjoyed reading and taking small trips to see the countryside.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. James include: one daughter, Rabel "Rae" Bledsoe, St. Robert; three grandchildren, Anthony Barton, Royce Barton, Jr. and Nancy Hubbard; six great-grandchildren, Stuart Barton, Danielle Hubbard, Erica Hubbard, Heather Barton, Jessica Barton and Marissa Barton and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. James at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2012, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Pastor Benjamin VanKuren, First Baptist Church, Crocker, officiating. Three special vocal selections of "In The Garden",
"Amazing Grace", and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", were played for the funeral service.

Interment was in the Bethany Cemetery, near Crocker, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Family and Friends served as pallbearers for Mrs. James.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home, Crocker.
