Elmer Linzy Mason, of Crocker, was born on October 7, 1943, at Mountain Grove, a son of Elmer Thomas and Nona Leona (Perry) Mason and departed this life at 5:35 p.m., Thursday, August 27, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Mason had attained the age of 76 years, 10 months and 20 days.

Mr. Mason was united in marriage on September 17, 1976, at St.James, to Rita Louise Moore and to this union, four  children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Susie Marie Frost in 2017 and two sisters, Leona Dunlap and Alice Blankenship.

Mr. Mason had worked at the mess hall at Fort Leonard Wood for over 43 years, retiring in 2016. He enjoyed wood working, especially making cabinets and being outside planting flowers and gardening.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Mason include: his wife, Rita of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, George and Darcie Mason, Crocker; two daughters and one son-in-law, Penny Broiler and Carol and Elvin Whitehead all of the state of Arkansas; one step daughter, Beth Ann Humphrey, Laquey; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

The family elected cremation for Mr. Mason with a private burial to be held at a later date in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Mountain Grove.
