Obituary

Mrs. Elsie Francis Whittle, of Crocker, was born on August 31, 1934, in Miller County a daughter of Guy and Lena (Barnett) Helton and departed this life at 6:31 a.m., Tuesday, June 16, 2020 in the Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach. Mrs. Whittle had attained the age of 85 years, 9 months and 15 days.

Mrs. Whittle was united in marriage on February 10, 1952, at Crocker, to Leo Donald Whittle and to this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Whittle on July 25, 1976; her parents both in 1999; and four brothers, Virgil Helton, Alfred Helton, Jessie Helton and Gerald Helton.

Mrs. Whittle was baptized in the Tavern Creek in April of 1957 by Bro. Lee A. Todd and at the time of her passing was a member of the Crocker Christian Church. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Crocker VFW and the Disabled Veterans. She enjoyed traveling, driving down country roads, cooking and being a Grandma. She had worked as a waitress in several different restaurants as well as being a loving and devoted housewife and homemaker.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Whittle include: her husband, Don Whittle, Crocker; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bert and Diane Whittle and Gene and Julie Whittle, all of Crocker; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Tom Walters, Richland; daughter-in-law, Nina Smith and her husband, Gary, of Jefferson City; nine grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer, Anissa, Leslie, Butch, Daniel, Rebecca, Fawn, Dalton; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Martha Lou Helton, Sheila Helton, Marilyn Whittle and Margie Geiger; brother-in-law, Phil Tannehill; nephews; nieces and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with the funeral  service at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 18, 2020 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker with Bro. Bill Claiborn and Bro. Lee A. Todd officiating.

Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mrs. Whittle are Dalton Whittle, Daniel Whittle, Butch Whittle, Herb Bluebaum, Jamie Walters and Jackson Moore.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker.
