Eric Ivan Vance, age 68, of Dixon, was born on May 1, 1956, at Neustadt, Germany a son of Gerald Sewell and Erna B. (Busser) Vance and passed from this life on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at his residence.

Eric was a 1975 graduate of Dixon High School. Following high school, Eric joined the United States Navy in May of 1975  and proudly and honorably served his country for twenty years retiring in 1995 at the rank of P02/E5.

Eric enjoyed classic cars and reading.

Those left to mourn the passing of Eric include, his sister Marlene Vance Blackburn of Dixon and other relatives and friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Gerald on May 7, 1976; his mother, Erna, on February 5, 2023; his grandparents, Ivan and Fern Vance; one brother, Alec Vance in July 2003 and two nephews, Troy Vance and Jordan Blackburn both in November 2020.

Following the wishes of Eric, the family elected cremation under the direction of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Mr. Eric Ivan Vance are suggested per the wishes of the family, with envelopes available at the funeral home or in care of the Martin-Kloeppel Funeral Home at P.O. Box GG Dixon, Missouri 65459.
