MRS. EVELYN JONES

Evelyn Marie Jones, of Crocker, was born August 3, 1928, at Swedeborg, a daughter of August and Nova Lois (Kissinger) Peterson, and departed this life at 5:55 a.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in the Mercy Hospital, Springfield. Mrs. Jones had attained the age of 83 years, 8 months and 15 days.

Mrs. Jones was united in marriage on July 21, 1950, in Arkansas, to Mr. John Way Jones, and to this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by one son, Terry Jones; her parents and two infant brothers.

Mrs. Jones was a member of the Swedeborg Christian Church and the Crocker VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting and her flower garden.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Jones include: her husband of 62 years, John "JW" Jones, Crocker; one son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Lillian Jones, Center View; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and William Goldsmith, Crocker; Anne and Brian Clark, Steelville; daughter-in-law, Gail Jones, St. Louis; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jane and Lester Shelton, Richland; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Jones at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Pastor Doug Jacobson, Eureka Baptist Church, Richland, officiating.

Interment was in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mrs. Jones were Brian Jones, Andy Jones, Matthew Pope, Kevin Green, Jesse Woodall, Philip Henke and Jason Huey.

Memorials are suggested to the Swedeborg Christian Church with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home, Crocker.
