Francis Derald Routh, of Crocker, was born on November 7, 1933, in Cooksville, Missouri. He was the son of Clarence and Margaret (Hand) Routh. He departed this life at 8:53 am Saturday, February 1, 2020 having attained the age of 86 years, 2 months and 24 days. He had been in failing health for quite some time.
Mr. Routh was united in marriage on November 12, 1955, in Santa Cruz, California to Ms. Gladys M. Jones and to this union four children were born. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence, his mother Margaret, and his sister, Georgia Routh Martin.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Routh include: his wife of 64 years, Gladys Routh, Crocker; his children, Ron (Amy) Routh, Crocker; Diana Robinson, Houston, Texas; Sharon (Gilbert) Gilbertsen, St. Louis, and Paula (Dan) Rosenthal, Hermann; five grandchildren, Dana (Jesse) Lorenz; James (Iris) Robinson; Joseph (Catherine) Robinson; Jonathan Routh and Nathan Routh; three step-grandchildren, Amanda (Anthony) Aimonette; Benjamin (Lisa) Gilbertsen and Christopher (Joanna) Gilbertsen; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Robinson and Ruby and Austin Lorenz; two step-great-grandchildren, Isabella and Dominic Aimonette; a niece, Julanne (Jimmie) Tracy; and many relatives and friends
Mr. Routh was a United States Army veteran and a member of the Crocker Christian Church. He had worked as a tool and die maker for Western Supply Company, St. Louis for over 46 years. He made many dies for the Brown Shoe Company. Some of Mr. Routh's favorite pastimes included traveling with his wife, sports of all kinds, fishing, hunting, wood working and he loved the challenge of fixing small engines and appliances.
Private services were held Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel with Larry Richardson officiating.
Interment was in the Antioch Cemetery near Crocker under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home of Crocker.
Pallbearers for Mr. Routh were Ron Routh, Jonathan Routh, Nathan Routh, James Robinson, Joseph Robinson and Dan Rosenthal. Serving as honorary pallbearer was Gilbert Gilbertsen.
