Fred James Robertson, of Dixon, was born on February 26, 1938 at Dixon, a son of Granville and Ella Irene (Adams) Robertson and departed this life at 11:48 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2020 in the Audrain Medical Center SSM, Mexico, Missouri. Fred had attained the age of 81 years, 10 months and 14 days.
Mr. Robertson was baptized in the Tavern Creek and had been a member of the Freedom Church, Dixon.
He was a United States Army veteran and later worked for General Motors in St. Louis and Bowling Green, Kentucky. Mr. Robertson enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to music especially Bluegrass and dancing.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Robertson include: one son, James Robertson, state of Texas; seven brothers, Austin Robertson, St. Louis; Clifford (Virginia) Robertson, Vienna; Raymond Robertson, New Haven; George (Dorothy) Robertson, Vienna; Paul (Shirley) Robertson, Bourbon; Bobby Robertson, Dixon and Benny (Jan) Robertson, Holts Summit; two sisters, Helen Bax, Jefferson City and Betty Hartley, Harrisonville; numerous nephews and nieces and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Barbara Ann Robertson; two brothers, Gene Robertson and Dean Robertson; two brothers-in-law, Donald Bax and Dennis Hartley and one sister-in-law, Mary Robertson.
Funeral services will be held for Mr. Robertson at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 12, 2020 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Bob Hamm officiating.
Interment with full military honors will be in the Kenner Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mr. Robertson are Gayle Bax, David Robertson, Cliff Robertson, Mark Robertson, Matt Robertson, Dennis Hartley, Jr. and Andrew Robertson. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Bax, Robbie Robertson, C.J. Hartley, Steve Bax, Brad Robertson, Shawn Robertson and Randy Robertson.
Memorials are suggested by the family to the Alzheimer's Association with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon.
