Gayle Marie Crews, of Dixon, was born on May 28, 1947, at Waynesville, a daughter of Leaman George, Sr. and Dorothy Lee (Schaffner) Crews, and departed this life at 12:01 a.m., Sunday morning, August 12, 2012, in the Dixon Nursing and Rehab Center, Dixon. Gayle had been in failing health and had attained the age of 65 years, 2 months and 14 days.
Gayle was preceded in death by her father on November 8, 2011 and three sons, Ernest Louis Davis on June 17, 1986; Danny Wayne Davis on June 26, 1998 and Edward George Davis on April 18, 2006.
Gayle was baptized at age 16 years and became a member of the First Baptist Church, Dixon. She was a homemaker and mother.
Those left to mourn the passing of Gayle include: her mother, Dorothy Crews, Dixon; two daughters, Paula Kay Davis and Brenda Lee Davis; one brother, Leaman George Crews, Jr., Dixon and two sisters, Beth Ann Owens and husband, Pete, Ozark and Debbie Bradley and husband, David, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and many other relatives and friends.
Private graveside services were held for Gayle on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, in the Pisgah Cemetery near Dixon under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon.
