Geneva Irene Goodrich, of Crocker, was born on August 26, 1930, at Hannah, a daughter of Harvey Kelen and Lucy Lucille (Phillips) Satterfield and departed this life at 3:35 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017, near Crocker. Mrs. Goodrich had attained the age of 86 years, 5 months and 9 days.
Mrs. Goodrich was united in marriage on December 24, 1954, at the Idumea Baptist Church, Laquey, to Mr. Bobbie Lee Goodrich and to this union, three sons were born. She was preceded in death by one son, James Lee Goodrich on November 28, 2008; her father, Harvey on January 13, 1983; her mother, Lucy on November 3, 2006 and her Aunt Edna Humphrey on February 11, 1991.
Mrs. Goodrich accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and followed her Lord in baptism early in life while attending the Idumea Baptist Church. In 1956 she became a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Crocker as well as the Ladies Circle of the Church. Mrs. Goodrich put God and family first in her life. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Hanson Chapter #22, Waynesville; was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, the Fellowship Ranch and had served on the Pulaski County Senior Citizen Fund Board. Bob and Geneva moved to Crocker in 1955 and in 1959 they started their company, Goodrich Gas, where she continued to work part-time, as well as being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Goodrich enjoyed embroidering, genealogy, her roses and gardening.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Goodrich include: her husband of over 62 years, Bob Goodrich, Crocker; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Denise Goodrich and Rob and Ann Goodrich, all of Crocker; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Michela Satterfield and their daughter, Jennifer, Crosby, Texas; brother-in-law, Herman and his wife, Mariann Goodrich, Crocker; sister-in-law, Gladys Wyatt and her husband, Gerald, Waynesville; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren with one expected in the near future; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Goodrich at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017, in the First Baptist Church, Crocker with Pastor Doug Jacobson and Pastor Robin Salsman officiating. Denise Salsman provided special musical selections for the service.
Interment was in the Idumea Cemetery, Laquey under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Crocker. Pallbearers for Mrs. Goodrich were her grandsons, Seth Goodrich, Jay Goodrich, Michael Pallai, Nick Goodrich, Chris Danielson, Jason Wilson and Jon Gray. Honorary pallbearers were Gerald Wyatt, Cecil Penland, Bud Newcomb, Art Helms and Alvin Lowery.
