Fritchey, Jr.

George Adam Fritchey, Jr., of Dixon, was born on September 10, 1923, in Pulaski County, a son of George Adam, Sr. and Velma Tine (Young) Fritchey and departed this life at 10:40 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2019, in the Phelps Health, Rolla. Mr. Fritchey had attained the age of 95 years, 10 months and 14 days.
Mr. Fritchey was united in marriage on July 1, 1950 at Crocker to Norma Pankey and to this union, one daughter was born. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Edward, Gene, Earl, Wayne, Homer and Donald Fritchey and two sisters, Ethel Lorene Thompson and Velma Lee Thompson.
Mr. Fritchey was a United States Army/Air Force veteran. He was baptized in 1955 while attending church in East Alton, Illinois and at the time of his passing was a faithful member of the Dixon First Assembly of God. Mr. Fritchey had worked as an overhead crane operator for Winchester Western/Olin Industries in East Alton, Illinois retiring after 39 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating and camping. He and Norma loved to travel and had visited all 50 states as well as places outside the country.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Fritchey include: his wife, Norma Fritchey, Dixon; his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Bill Randel, Shawnee, Kansas; two grandchildren, Angela Rank and Terry Randel; one great-grandson, Spencer Rank; his sister, Betty Davis, Rolla; his beloved church family and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Mr. Fritchey at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019 in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon with Pastor Scott Ballard, Dixon First Assembly of God Church, officiating.
Interment was in the Seaton Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mr. Fritchey were Darrin Davis, Dennis Thompson, Mike Plummer, Bill Hensley, Larry Fritchey, Jr. and Rex Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Thompson and Burton Fritchey.
