Obituary

Georgia Lucille Teel, of Dixon, was born on December 23, 1929, at Rosedale, Kansas, a daughter of George and Bessie (Butler) Stillwell, and departed this life at 4:30 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2014, in the Waynesville Life Care Center, Waynesville. Mrs. Teel had attained the age of 84 years, 11 months 19 days.

Mrs. Teel was united in marriage on February 2, 1946, at Vienna, to Lester D. Teel, and to this union, three children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on October 14, 2000; one grandson, Dustin Teel; one granddaughter, Kelly Teel; one brother, Larry Stillwell; and one sister, Ruth Richmond.

Mrs. Teel was a member of the Sheppard Baptist Church, Dixon. She had worked for Brown Shoe Company, Dixon, retiring after 35 plus years. Mrs. Teel enjoyed reading, taking walks, being out of doors, her flower gardens and most of all her grandchildren.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Teel include: two sons and daughter-in-law, Kenny Teel, Rolla and Bobby and Beth Teel, Dixon; one daughter, Linda Spaeth, St. Joseph; daughter-in-law, LaGail Garner, Crocker; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Becky Stillwell, Waterloo, Iowa; sister-in-law, Lorraine Teel, Dixon; eight grandchildren, Richard, Charles, Brandon, Conrad and wife, Amy, Chad, Deborah and husband, Guy, Jennifer and Levi; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nephews; nieces; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Teel at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2014, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Dixon, with Pastor Ron Hershberger, Santee Church, Dixon, officiating.

Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Dixon. Pallbearers for Mrs. Teel were Richard Downs, Charles Downs, Conrad Spaeth, Chad Spaeth, Levi Teel and Robin Stillwell. Honorary pallbearers were Scott Stillwell, Robbie Stillwell, Brandon Teel and Guy Baker.

Memorial contributions are suggested by the family to the Alzheimer's Association with envelopes available at the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Home, Dixon.
